All exterior doors to the school have been locked and students will be kept inside as much as possible.
BATTLEFORDS – All schools in the Battlefords have been locked down, according to an email sent out by Living Sky School Division Wednesday morning.
“This morning we were made aware of a threat that was made against the safety of our school community,” states the email. “As a precautionary measure, we are initiating a hold & secure at all schools in The Battlefords. This means all exterior doors to the school have been locked and students will be kept inside as much as possible. We are working with the RCMP and will send further updates as we are able.
Safety of students is always our top priority, therefore we are being extra cautious at this time, said Living Sky School Division.
The Battlefords News-Optimist contacted the Battlefords RCMP Detachment and were told “at this moment we have no information to release.”
Sask. RCMP media relations in Regina was also contacted for comment. They didn’t immediately respond.
